Wednesday Hodgpodge ~ Updated Version

I labored over these questions this week . . .

1. Americans will celebrate Labor Day this coming weekend. Do you know what we're actually celebrating? (without consulting your friends Google or wikipedia, ahem) What's a project you're currently 'laboring' over?
Okay without looking it up, I'm assuming we are celebrating all laborers? I asked my own personal google ~ aka: the Hubby, and he said Labor Unions so I'm going with that as my informed answer.

Currently I'm laboring over my 101 list!

2. Labor Day also signals the unofficial end of summer for most of us...what summer food will you miss the most? If you're in the southern hemisphere feel free to substitute winter for summer.
I will miss the Hubby grilling the entree of choice.  I will also miss a caprese salad which doesn't quite taste as good the rest of the year.

3. A well known proverb states, 'It's easier to seek forgiveness than ask permission.' Your thoughts?
Well, I'm pretty much a follow the rules kind of girl so I've never had to actually put that certain quote to use.  That said, I could see where in some instances it might be useful.
4. Food critic, film critic, book critic, art critic....which hat would you most like to wear?
Definitely FOOD.  I mean, how can you not want to eat yummy food and get paid for it?!  Duh.

5. When you were a kid, who (besides your parents) was your favorite adult?
Hmm.  I'm drawing a blank on this one.

6. The astronaut, Neil Armstrong, passed away last week. He was regarded as a hero by many generations of people all around the world. Do we still have modern day heroes? What makes someone a hero?
Sure we have heroes.  Firefighters, service men and women, police officers . . . a hero is someone who does what needs to be done, putting their duty ahead of themselves.  Courage and selflessness are their middle names.

7. I never get tired of __________________.
The SUN!  I mean, I do love my seasons but I never ever get tired of the sun.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I saw this bumper sticker yesterday . . .  the picture is really bad but you get the idea . . .

Update: okay so sometimes the picture is there and sometimes it is not. So if you see it... good timing on your part.  If not... sorry about it (as X would say)

Since I'm updating anyway I had a random act of kindness done for me today or should I say done TO me.  I was walking down the sidewalk at Bridgeport (for those that are not my neighbors, it's a shopping mall) and this young lady was driving by and literally shouted out her open window "mam, you look great.  You look so young."  Now, I don't know if she was just doing a random act for the sake of doing one or she really meant it. And I could probably lament the fact that she called me mam (is that how that's spelled?) and wonder, what did she think I should look like but I won't and it made my day so I don't  really care.  Ha.

I'm just sayin'

Oh, I love the sun, too! Makes me feel so much better to see it shining! Dreary, cold days drag me down. I'm almost scared to admit this, but I don't get the bumper sticker. :(

We grill at least 3 times a week in the summer - everything from chicken to pizza goes on the grill :) ... April, you are not alone, I dont get the bumper sticker either...I'm trying to think if that symbol stands for something...?

Going to miss grilling also. Have no clue what the bumper sticker means.

I will miss grilling too... All summer long when Paul askes what's for dinner I inform him of what he will be cooking... Oh how I will miss that!

I will miss the grilling too...everything's good on the grill. It doesn't require as much planning which is the part that makes me tired.

I can't see a picture?
